Nestled high in the San Juan National Forest, overlooking peaceful Lemon Lake, you ll find this 100-year-old vintage log cabin with all the modern amenities to welcome you.

Hidden from the road on 35 quiet acres this charming, quintessential Colorado mountain log cabin has 3 bedrooms + sleeping loft, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms + stunning lake views and access to hiking trails + lake and/or stream fishing. Lemon Lake Log Cabin is a scenic mellow 25 minute drive from Durango and offers all the quiet, and outdoor access you could want, while not being too far out to enjoy the fun that Durango has to offer. The cabin, along with neighboring Big Barn (available to rent separately or together for larger parties) are the only 2 properties with lake views along the south end of the bonus: no other visible neighbors!

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking tools you ll need and the wood burning fireplace will keep you cozy on cool nights. Downstairs, you can open the French doors (with phantom screens to keep the critters out) and enjoy the Colorado air. Fire up the grill outside and enjoy eating on the deck overlooking the lake - perhaps you ll even see the Bald eagles that roost just down by the lake flying about. 2 (cable) TV s and DVD player, board games, books and a 10-year collection of National Geographics can entertain you on days spent inside, but even better, head outside to the lake for fly fishing or hiking. Beds have new Cocoon or Saatva mattresses and luxury down pillows and duvets. Kitchens are stocked with Keurig Breville espresso machines, French-presses (for tea and coffee), Calphalon and Lodge cookware.

The home is now equipped with Ultra High-Speed Starlink internet.

Note: This home can be rented in conjunction with another home that resides on the same property. The additional home sleeps 4 people. The two are 100+ yards away from each other and are visually separated by trees. If interested please ask for additional info.

This property is pet friendly (with prior approval)and the pet fee is $25/per day. We allow up to 2 dogs per stay. The maximum pet fee is $200/per pet and will be added to your reservation after you book.

4 wheel drive mandatory in the winter

Please be thoughtful about your water usage, water is a precious resource up here, and comes directly from our captured spring. The cabin is also on a whole-house water filtration system.

NO Smoking anywhere on the premises.

Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking.

Note: This home does not have Air Conditioning. Most homes do come equipped with box and ceiling fans.

A friendly reminder before you book your stay, is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guest, pets and gatherings. We are implementing a strict one strike policy for any guest that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets, or guest with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights.

Please note that most properties are outfitted with outdoor security cameras.

Cancellation Policy:
If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival will receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Between (29) days and fifteen (15) days before arrival, guest will be refunded 50% of the reservation amount. (14) days or less to arrival, no refunds given.
For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date to receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee Cancellations made between thirty-one (31) days in advance of your arrival and (59) days will receive a 50% refund.

Trip insurance is available for purchase and is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
